Smith, of Flint, said that her obstetrician advised her to get the shot and mentioned it would be safe for her growing baby. The Al Hachams of Dearborn got the jab so that they could protect their three children and be safe while commuting for work.
The purpose of the sweep was to give people an incentive to vaccinate themselves against the deadly virus. Michigan hopes to reach 70 percent vaccination for its population aged 16 and above. The sweepstakes not only features up to 30 $50,000 winners but also includes $1 million and $2 million prizes.
