Residents of Michigan were presented a unique opportunity - a chance to participate in sweepstakes and win an awesome cash prize. What’s the catch, you ask? Well, nothing! All vaccinated Michiganders were eligible to win the state-run sweepstakes.
Governor. Gretchen Whitner recently announced the MI Shot to Win Sweepstakes and outlined a lottery-style raffle that would give vaccinated residents of Michigan a shot at winning up to a total of $5 million in cash prizes and a combined total of around $500,000 in the form of college scholarships.
The sweepstakes featured a single drawing of $50,000 every day, for a total of 30 days, as well as the chance to win a $1 million drawing and a $2 million drawing! For children between 12 and 17 years, the Michigan sweepstake also includes a total of nine chances to win a Michigan Education Trust Charitable Tuition Program contract that is valued at a whopping $55,000 each.
Regarding this, Gov. Whitmer said, “Today's announcement is an exciting step toward accomplishing our goals of getting more people vaccinated, of getting everyone back to work, getting this economy invigorated.” She added that by running such sweepstakes, they were tapping into the competitive spirit of Michigan residents.
