Sweepstakes come with expiry dates. If you’re in a rush to enter one, the auto-fill feature that’s available on most Internet browsers saves you both time and effort in filling out the entry form. But what if the information you had previously entered isn’t relevant anymore or was incorrect? Here’s how you can fix it.

If you use Chrome™

You can identify information filled via auto-fill in the past by clicking into an empty field in the form area and viewing the drop-down list below. Sweepstake entry forms may require you to fill in basic details such as your name and age. If Chrome™ is your default browser, you can delete unwanted auto-fill details by hovering over it in the drop-down list and clicking “Shift” and “Delete” simultaneously. Another way to modify your auto-fill information is by clicking on the three vertically stacked dots on the top right corner of your browser. Then, go to Settings>Auto-fill>Addresses and more.

If you use Internet Explorer

Click on the blank entry field. After the drop-down list appears, move your cursor to the auto-fill option you want to remove and press the “Delete” key on your keyboard. To make changes to your auto-fill details you can also hit the “Tools” icon on the top right corner of your screen. Then, click on Internet Options>Contents>AutoComplete>Settings.

If you use Microsoft Edge

You can choose to delete all your auto-fill entries if you want to enter sweeps with fresh details, too. Hover over the three dots on the top right corner of your screen and go to Settings>Privacy & Security>Clear Browsing Data>Choose What to Clear>Auto-fill data. To edit individual details, head to “passwords and auto-fill” under the “Settings” tab.

If you use Firefox

To remove separate suggestions from the auto-fill form, you can highlight the field and hold the “Shift” and “Delete” keys together. To delete auto-fill history entirely, press the hamburger icon on the top right corner of your browser and click History>Clear Recent History.
