As Instagram becomes more popular, you may be wondering if you can win sweeps on it. And the answer is yes since it’s the perfect place for promoters to host sweeps. That said, it’s a fairly new arena for sweepstakes, and some sweepers are still unaware of it. Therefore, your odds of winning an Instagram sweep are higher since the entries may be fewer compared to what traditional sweeps receive! Read our beginner-friendly guide to winning sweeps on Instagram.
Set up an account on Instagram
Firstly, you will need a mobile device such as a tablet or a smartphone to operate Instagram in its full capacity. Although you can set up your account, follow pages, browse photos, and comment using a desktop, you won’t be able to share stories or post images. So, find the Instagram app on the Play Store or App Store® and download it to begin. To win sweeps, it’s best to keep your account public. Also, add a profile picture and something about yourself in the bio.
Enter Sweeps
- Most sweeps promoters will need you to follow them and like an image related to the sweepstakes, while others may require you to share a post, tag a friend, or comment. To follow, simply click on the blue button that appears under the profile picture and bio. Just remember that you can only follow a maximum of 7,500 accounts on Instagram.
- To like a sweeps post, you’ll need to either double-click the post or click the heart icon underneath the image. To comment, select the speech bubble icon, and if you want to tag a friend, type an “@” in front of your friend’s username.
- Pro tip: Post your own photos to your account, as promoters will get an opportunity to learn more about you. If you win a sweep on Instagram, you will either be tagged in a post or in a comment or in a story. Therefore, ensure you check your post and message notifications.
